We’re thrilled to announce home-bred Ribblebrook Rocky is now a novice FTW after winning at the South West Scotland Gundog Association held at the Barwhillanty Estate on 21/10/24!
Pedro held his own in good company and in challenging weather conditions on ground that included white grass/rushes, Bracken and gorse. His first run entailed hunting the banking of the lake, where after using the wind to his advantage, produced a cock bird that dropped just to the other side of the lake. One cast and he threw himself into the water, swiftly picking the cock bird and returned straight back a cross the lake and brought the pheasant safely home. Our second run started off in gorse where we had multiple flushes, however they were unsafe for the guns to shoot. We continued for a short while in swirling winds where Pedro naturally altered his pattern to give him the best chance of producing game for the guns.
Overall I am a very proud breeder and owner and can’t thank all who have helped me to achieve this accolade enough! From club secretaries, competitors, land owners, guns, and my very generous sponsors; Fit & Fertile, Sussex Gundog Supplies and Crystal Feeds.
Good boy Pedro, time for a well earned rest!
